Portland Personal Trainer: How To Enjoy Thanksgiving Day!
Thanksgiving is only a few days away and all of us are thinking about that great food. We do not want to be gluttons, but there is so much great food in front us, how can we not eat too much. Let me spell out in plain simple terms, you are going to be eating all day, so you might as well get over that hurdle. The way to offset those calories that are going to be ingested is to be active throughout the day. In the morning, sign up for a Turkey Trot or do an early morning training with your personal trainer or group fitness class. This will not only get the body to start burning calories, but you will have set the body in motion to let it know you are going to be active today. In between drinks, appetizers and before dinner, go on a half hour walk with some friends to get some of that food to digest . When dinner is served, I want you to enjoy, but after dinner, do not take a nap, go for another 30 minute walk with a group of people so you can prepare for desert. We all know that we are going to indulge on this day, so we might as well be active so we do not feel overly stuffed, but at the same time we know we are burning some additional calories to offset some of those tasty high calorie foods.
